GitTogether
GitHub's GitTogether took home the Virtual Town Hall category at the 2026 Ragan Employee Communications Awards, recognized April 28 at an awards luncheon at City Winery in New York City. The Ragan program honors the campaigns, communicators and teams setting the standard for internal communications across industries.
GitTogether is GitHub's company-wide town hall for Hubbers — a fully remote workforce of more than 3,500 people spread across time zones. The award-winning installment was built to carry the momentum of GitHub's July revenue kickoff into a single, shared story that engineering, product and operations could all act on, regardless of role.
GitHub's Internal Communications team spent two months planning across Revenue and Executive Comms, working from employee feedback that pointed to a real gap in how teams understood the revenue narrative. The live program was built around a CEO message, an executive panel framed by GitHub's three Revenue Plays, and a closing moment that turned a sales-floor rallying cry into a company-wide one. A follow-up intranet hub gave leaders the replays, short clips and toolkits to keep the conversation going in their own team meetings.
Per Ragan's writeup, 93.8 percent of attendees came away with a clear understanding of strategy, with non-revenue teams in particular closing a long-standing clarity gap.
