Overview

Pop-Up Magazine was a live magazine: nonfiction stories performed on stage by writers, photographers, filmmakers, and radio producers, brought to life with original animation and film on a large-format screen and an original score performed live in the room. Each issue assembled a dozen short stories into a single evening, structured like a print magazine and built to be experienced together, in person.

Barry Watts served as Executive Producer, leading show flow and run of show, technical direction, screen content and playback, and multi-camera capture across the studio editions, holding the stage, the screen, and the live score together in real time so every story landed on cue.
